The Department of Social Development and Safety (PSdK) from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at Gadjah Mada University presents an exhibition of activities by the Community Development as a collection for its 60s birthday. The activities that carry the theme “Harmonization for Development and just Societies” will continue for 3 years in the hallway of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences of UGM. To support the success of the event, PSdK invited all different kinds of small or medium enterprises in Yogya and surroundings to exhibit food or self-made products.

Rifka Annisa gets the chance to present the products that are results of food processing by local communities close that to Gunung Kidul. Communities coming from different areas like Jetis, Semin, Gedangsari and Saptosari.

A grand diversity of processed food products was sold, as banana chips, eggplant chips, roasted nuts, rice crackers and bitter melon crackers. The price ranged from 5.000 to 17.000 Rupiah. “I am happy with the exhibition because it makes the products of our communities well known in areas far away”, says one person that is part of the community from Jetis. 2000 rupiah from every product will be sold and donated to help empowering the women in Gunung Kidul. These activities are aligned with the program of Rifa Annisa as Women’s Economic Empowerment; it aims to train women to work with natural resources and energy to earn money until they are economically independent.
